Given my frequent battles with cable modems, wireless routers, printers, viruses, database programs, external devices, html code, etc., I've determined that technology is the only thing in my life that can reduce me to tears or put me in a state of ecstacy on such a regular basis. Today I fixed the no-internet problem we've been having at our apartment for about three months now, and I'm feeling pretty damn good. There's nothing so sweet as toiling at a problem and getting a result.
For all my recent victories I'd like to thank: google, internet message boards, tutorial sites, my father, the Xerox guy at work who after fixing my printer told me "we don't make these anymore so just try not to touch it, ever," and--even though it kills me to say it--the nice lady at Time Warner. Soak it up now, because I'll probably be cursing all of you tomorrow (Dad not included).
**UPDATE: Technology continues to foil me: my phone is now in the habit of delaying the sending and receiving of text messages for anywhere between 15 minutes and 4 hours.
