A Thousand Different Versions of Yourself

Goings Ons--

Last weekend I surprised my parents and showed up at home. I got to spend time with my mom (who is now doing a lot better (!)) and binge on all home related things: the smell of my sheets, over-sized couches, a full pantry, homemade samosas, food network and tlc, light shining through all the windows, being on the ground floor, strawberries with heavy cream and powdered sugar, Thandi, the sound of my dad's chair rolling in the study, family parties with too much food, the #6 at del... I even got to sneak in through the back door at 5am after locking myself out.

I also got to spend a few stolen moments with friends, who are wonderful, and bestowed gifts upon me like stolen airline blankets, zebra stamps, and borrowed copies of the "IMAX: Deep Sea" dvd (thanks Jennifer).

On top of all that I came home to find a coloring book from Steph and tiny chocolate eggs hiding rather conspicuously around my room. Not to mention packages from Jennifer and my parents, featuring items like a giraffe hair clip, clothes, and the first three episodes of This American Life the TV show on dvd. I've been pretty overwhelmed by this abundance of kindness, more overwhelmed by far than I am by everything else that's going on. So, at the risk of sounding gushy, thanks to everyone. I love you guys more than bunnnies.

Also, tonight we're seeing Mass Transit at Skirball. Join us!

She's An Open Book

this space is soon to be filled with thoughts, pictures, major and/or minor life updates (whichever seem more interesting), and other general meanderings. it will most likely be rife with inconsistency in regards to purpose, frequency of posts, and overall content. i don't expect it to be more or less captivating (okay, maybe less) to you, the reader, than any other type of online journal-esque endeavor, except for maybe the fact that you know me, and are probably living farther away from me than i'd like. i'm usually on the fence about internet-related ventures such as these, so if this suddenly goes away, you know why. until then, sending love over world wide web waves-- me.
