Hip to Be Square

Last night Jennifer treated me to (very super close to the front) tickets to see The Decemberists with the LA Phil, Andrew Bird, and Band of Horses at the Hollywood Bowl. Band of Horses was fun, basically a row of skinny bearded boys on the stage (Which I am not complaining about). The LA Phil made The Decemberists pretty spectacular, but the highlight of my night was definitely Andrew Bird, who, with his violin, guitar, whistling, and loop machine can make more sound that you can imagine with three people. He ended with one of my favorite songs, Skin Is, My. It was amazing, please be jealous. Maybe I'll get a picture or video or something from Jennifer later.

Until then, I'm going camping tomorrow, then it's back to the NYC. See you then.

Keep it Like a Secret

I recently found a new podcast. It's called StoryCorps and it's presented by NPR and you should listen to it. Like, now.

Today's Flashback Friday- September 2004, Senior Year:
club poster making, SAT study scrambling, and general playing in the neon vacuum that was my room.

<3

Starting tomorrow I'll be in i-town for the next two weeks. Will you?

He's a pretty cool guy.

There's me in the Pooh suit. Naked! (Pooh, not me.) Although I sort of wish I had been, because it was very, very hot in there. And also very hard to see, which made for some pretty awkward and hilarious moments. It was a really fun day, and the only part that was kind of awful was when a little girl found her way into our tent and saw me only half in costume, without the Pooh-head on. I think both our hearts broke just a little bit.

Flashback Friday

just because.
Have you met Thandi? She's about 6 years older and 5 times bigger now.

Sixth grade. Our group made dolmades for Greek day, which were very unpopular at the time, especially compared to the baklava. Eh, more for us. If you hadn't noticed already--I am an entire head shorter than my friends. Real cute, I know.

This is the backroom at my internship. The picture isn't exactly a flashback, but looking at the titles and covers of some of our books (or maybe just our clunky, internet-less computer), you'd probably think you were in the past. Or at least a Lifetime movie. I really do love it there.

I recently stole a bunch of music from Jon, as I normally do. I reeally like this album, Be He Me by Annuals. You should pick it up if you can. Or, you know, find someone to steal it from.

peace.
